Doncho Milchev to Lead the Construction Supervision Team for Storylines' New-build Ship MV Narrative
Storylines' residential cruise line and Gelen Marine have appointed Doncho Milchev as the on-site construction manager of Storylines' inaugural vessel, MV Narrative, at its Brodosplit Shipyard offices in Split, Croatia. Set to sail in 2027, the private residence ship will be 766 feet long and 98 feet wide with 530 fully furnished residences. Standout amenities include 20 dining and bar venues, a microbrewery, a marina with personal watercraft, movie theater and more.
Milchev, a multi-disciplined marine engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry, will handle the multifaceted challenges of the day-to-day management of the site team constructing the ship. Milchev began his career as an engineer and later progressed to shipyard manager before becoming an owner’s site supervisor. In this role, he has overseen numerous complex new building projects across Europe and Asia, including various cruise ships and a variety of highly technological vessels.
Milchev will liaise with the shipyard on timeline progress, construction issues and allocation of site team resources and will provide technical support to resolve challenges related to installation and testing for machinery, piping and other systems. He will report to and provide support to Storylines´ Executive Vice President of Ship Operation & Construction and work in close cooperation with Brodosplit’s Project Manager.
"As a site manager, my responsibilities are extensive and varied, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards. My tasks include coordinating the team that will be supervising the hull construction in all stages, meticulously examining and testing onboard equipment as well as overseeing the installation of essential systems. I am thrilled to be taking part in this exciting project and very confident of the capabilities of both the yard and the technical supervision team to navigate the complexities of this exciting new-build vessel," says Milchev.
