“Wine on tap is not a fad. It is not a trend. It is part of the broader mandate of sustainability that defines the age in which we live.” ~Kareen Massoud, winemaker, Paumanok Vineyards
In honor of Earth Day, we would like to highlight one of Storylines’ sustainability initiatives this week: wine on tap in our ship's bars and restaurants. As part of our intentional pursuit to eliminate waste, tens of thousands of glass bottles, corks, foil, crates, labels, tape and packaging will be saved from landfills with this initiative. A barrel of wine contains 60 gallons (228 liters), saving material resources from 25 cases and 300 glass bottles per barrel. Utilizing reusable wine storage containers guarantees zero waste to landfills; there is nothing to recycle or throw away.
The Wine Cellar and the Champagne Bar also have a selection of fine aged wine of limited vintages in bottles available for purchase. Residents are welcome to bring a bottle of wine from their own personal wine collection to any of our bars and restaurants, or order a bottle from the Wine Cellar or Champagne Bar.

In the market, bottles of wine can be purchased to take home to your residence by pouring a full (reusable glass) bottle from the taps in the bulk liquids area. There are also ample opportunities for purchasing wine on shore which helps support local economies.
Every choice matters. Happy Earth Day and we look forward to seeing you on board!
