Remote working entrepreneurs Mark and Monica are the Storylines' neighbors in the spotlight this month. They shared with us how they traveled around the world during the pandemic, how they work remotely, and how they plan to do both simultaneously with Storylines aboard MV Narrative.
Based in Austin, Texas, Mark and Monica also have a condo in Portugal and have recently sold one in Mexico. Now they’re adding Storylines to their list of international properties. Both of them have online businesses so they’re already accustomed to working remotely from anywhere in the world. In fact, Mark has been doing so for 25 years, longer than Zoom or Skype have been around. As experienced entrepreneurs and investors, both Mark and Monica look forward to sharing their knowledge and learning from other residents on board.
During our chat, they spoke about the ship's business facilities and staying connected with their teams - a big part of working as part of a global lifestyle. MV Narrative’s extensive business centers with event spaces, private offices, co-working spaces, conference rooms and more will enable Mark and Monica to travel the world while still getting their work done. Like Mark says, “If you’ve got to work, you might as well have a great view.”
Besides being entrepreneurs, Mark and Monica spend their time traveling all over the world and have now been on 30 cruises. They enjoy land based travel as well and have recently been to the Republic of Georgia. They told us that traveling during COVID times was not as scary as one might think. Every place they’ve been to has been cautious and diligent with health precautions so they feel safe wherever they go.
Cruisers...Globe Trotters...Remote workers...Mark and Monica will fit right in! As Mark said, “It’s always great to travel with like-minded people who are kind of there for the same thing. It’s a lot of fun meeting people who have the same passions as you have. We’re definitely looking forward to that!”
