Our mission is to provide a lifestyle for people who want to live at sea and travel the world, all without leaving their homes

In fulfilling our mission, Storylines takes responsibility for the impact we have on the planet. While cruise ships don’t have the best reputation for environment sustainability, we are changing that by utilizing liquid natural gas, new fuel cell technologies, banning single-use plastics and converting waste to energy. Storylines is providing a reproducible model for other ships to follow, leading to a more sustainable industry. Other corporate responsibilities which contribute to the growth strategy of the Company include:

 

Giving Back

We are a part of Pledge 1%, a global leader in philanthropy and responsibility, founded by Marc Benioff (the founder of Salesforce.com). We have pledged 1% of our time, profits and equity which allows us to give back in so many ways.

 

Reducing Emissions

Our goal is to reduce our emissions to become a zero carbon footprint company. We are also utilizing new technologies to eliminate waste, from sewage to rubbish to medical waste and other end-use products that can't be recycled. It is a completely closed-loop lifecycle process that we hope the rest of the industry will also incorporate in the coming years.

The average US citizen is responsible for the consumption of 3.78 gallons (6.9l) of gasoline per day. When adding in electrical power consumption, oil & gas heating, and residential natural gas usage, our vessels are in a better carbon footprint position than the land based equivalent.

 

Diversity

Storylines staff and residents are a global community with various ethnicities, abilities, genders, ages, sexual orientations and religious affiliations being represented. We currently have staff from three continents and we will continue to source our talent in an equal-opportunity manner.

 

Non-discrimination

Storylines has a zero-tolerance discrimination policy. This extends to everyone involved in the company including our partners and suppliers. Our residents will also abide by this rule, as they are living and working alongside people from all over the world. This extends to wages - employees are judged only on their ability to undertake the work involved and earn accordingly, not according to their gender or any other irrelevant measure.

 

Community Spirit

In keeping with the Storylines experience, our fundamentals are inspired by our Core Principles - a guide to what people can expect to find onboard a Storylines vessel. Our residents will naturally explore and develop these to make them their own. Our role is to ensure the integrity of these principles are being observed for the betterment of all onboard.
