MIAMI, FL – Storylines announced today that it is now taking pre-sale deposits for its environmentally conscious new-build ship; a sleek and luxurious vessel that uses clean LNG fuel. The ship will welcome residents who are ready to start a new chapter of their lives in a home-at-sea for a global journey of discovery and cultural immersion. By residing in a thriving residential community at sea, members will have the opportunity to live a life of freedom and exploration as part- or full-time owners.

“We’re thrilled to finally be able to release the design of our new LNG powered ship,” said Storylines Co-founder and CEO, Alister Punton. “The Storylines mission is to deliver a sustainable, responsible and thoughtful lifestyle for our residents. This new vessel is designed to cater to a unique community of global citizens. Every aspect of the ship from the room layouts to the culinary offerings to the spa and itinerary have been thoroughly planned with residential living and environmental considerations in mind.”

Storylines Sustainability Initiatives confirm its commitment to protecting the seas on which it sails. The initiatives include:
  • utilizing liquid natural gas (LNG) - the cleanest burning fossil fuel and currently the most environmentally friendly option available for powering ships
  • 5,400 square foot organic vertical hydroponic garden with crops such as salad greens, microgreens, herbs and vine crops  (an industry first)
  • converting waste heat (from the ship’s engines) to electricity to power the ship's residences
  • converting excess energy (from cooling the LNG fuel) to cool the HVAC system, reducing total vessel energy consumption
  • converting solid waste (including food, sewage, paper, cardboard, plastic, wood and oil) to energy
  • utilizing fuel cells to power the ship's residences
  • zero-waste farmer's market featuring organic produce from the ship’s garden, freshly made deli selections, bulk dry goods and refill stations for everyday essentials (another industry first)
  • supply chain purchasing from ethical companies that share common goals including responsible governance, protecting resources and treating employees fairly. Preference for companies with minimal packaging, fair-trade, B-corps, 1% for the Planet members and climate neutral companies
  • Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified seafood
  • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper products
  • no single use plastics - everything is biodegradable, compostable or reusable
  • locally and responsibly sourced food whenever possible to reduce the ship’s carbon footprint and ensure that residents and crew are offered only the freshest food
  • animal products are free-range, not factory farmed
  • 800 liter microbrewery to self-sustain the ship's needs while serving exceptionally fresh high-quality beer and helping to meet waste-reduction goals
  • wine selection on barrel tap saves 25 cases and 300 glass bottles per 60 gallon barrel
  • non-toxic biocide free hull coating that is safe for sensitive marine environments
  • biodegradable cleaning products safe for marine environments, all US EPA 'Safer Choice' certified
  • environmental officer responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing the environmental policies
  • carbon neutrality by offsetting the carbon footprint of the ship
  • contributing a portion of profits to protect the ocean from global challenges via Pledge 1%
